TOGG arrived in 2018 as something Turkey had never attempted before — a homegrown automotive manufacturer built from the ground up. The Automobile Joint Venture Group, that's what TOGG stands for, emerged from a partnership between five Turkish industrial conglomerates: Anadolu Group, BMC, Ege Automotive, Koc Holding, and Turkcell. A fully Turkish-designed and engineered electric SUV with a 400-kilometer range, indigenous battery technology, and a price point that undercut most competitors in its segment. The styling was competent. The engineering was solid. Most importantly, it proved the doubters wrong. Production began in late 2023 with domestic deliveries launching in 2024. This changed everything. What followed was the messy reality of manufacturing. Supply chain nightmares. Quality control issues that plagued early units. Customer complaints about build quality and software glitches — the standard script for any new automaker. But TOGG kept pushing. They expanded production capacity. International markets beckoned — Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia all showed interest in a genuinely new player. The TX10 became the foundation of a broader strategy. Additional models entered development. The company targeted 500,000 annual production by 2030. Ambitious? Absolutely. Delusional?
