Toyota Ist – Technical Data across 3 Generations
The Toyota Ist occupied a small but distinct niche in the B-segment mini five-door class between 2002 and 2016. Positioned as a compact hatchback with a slightly elevated, crossover-leaning stance, it ran across three generations and nine documented variants, powered exclusively by petrol engines ranging from 87 to 132 PS. It gave Toyota a technically straightforward, city-oriented entry below its mainstream hatchbacks.

The second generation (2007-2016) raised power to a 105-132 PS band across three variants, the strongest range in the model's history. It represented the Ist's final and longest-running iteration before discontinuation.
A 2005-2007 restyling kept the three-variant lineup but shifted output slightly to 87-109 PS, a marginal recalibration rather than a platform change. Engine architecture and body configuration remained consistent with the original generation.
The first generation (2002-2005) introduced the Ist with three variants and petrol outputs of 88-110 PS. Its mini five-door layout prioritized a compact footprint and simple, low-complexity powertrains for urban use.
